Toasters and Toaster Ovens
Toasters
Toasters are available in many styles to fit your individual decor and needs. Standard toasters are usually two or four slices. Select a toaster that has the options important to you. Consider slot width, darkness control, styling and design. Some toasters will have wide slots and can accommodate thick slices of bread, rolls or bagels. Most will have a dial to regulate darkness. Some four slice toasters, like the Cuisinart pictured below, have dual controls. Look for a toaster that has a crumb tray to facilitate cleaning. You can also choose between a traditional shape toaster or an elogated style. To prolong the life of your toaster clean it periodically. Remember never reheat buttered toast. Do not use a knife or metal object to help dislodge a stuck slice of bread with the toaster plugged in.
Toaster Ovens
Toaster ovens are toasters with oven and broiler settings. Usually for small apartments, dorm rooms and simple small batch baking. Rapidly becoming popular are convection toaster ovens. Very versatile it has four settings - Convection, Bake, Broil and Toast. Also available is a space saving two level toaster oven. When shopping for a toaster oven consider the size needed. The most common toaster ovens found are 4 slice toaster oven and 6 slice toaster oven.
